How to apply
Applicants must meet the MOE Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan

Eligibility criteria for the above-mentioned application:
As stated in Regulations Regarding Study and Counseling Assistance for Overseas Chinese Students in Taiwan, “Overseas Chinese students who have graduated, been expelled, or been suspended from their studies for longer than the maximum allowable duration will lose their status as an overseas Chinese student (…) Students whose status has been temporarily suspended will resume their status upon returning to school.” Anyone meeting one of the following requirements will be considered as an overseas Chinese, and is therefore disqualified from applying as an international student:
A. Having previously studied at the Division of Preparatory Programs for Overseas Chinese Students at National Taiwan Normal University (formerly known as National University of Preparatory School for Overseas Chinese Students).
B. Having applied for studies or previously studied in any school in Taiwan as an overseas Chinese.
C. Having taken the university entrance exam for overseas Chinese students held by the University Entrance Committee for Overseas Chinese Students and who has filled out preferences for a university/college and has been admitted to one of those universities/colleges.
- For admission to Bachelor Programs: At least a high school diploma or equivalent
- For admission to Master's Programs: At least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- For admission to Doctoral Programs: At least a Master’s degree or equivalent

Language Proficiency Requirements:
Applicants to programs taught in Chinese must provide proof of Chinese proficiency, or, applicants to programs taught in English must provide proof of English proficiency. Please follow the specific requirements of the program they apply.
Please note that only official language proficiency test results are accepted; preliminary or unofficial results will not be considered.

- Chinese/Mandarin Proficiency:Please refer to<<Chinese Language Proficiency Tests in CEFR Levels>>
- English Proficiency: Please submit the recognized English proficiency tests. Or, applicants who hold citizenship from countries listed as English-speaking ones by the University, or who have obtained their previous degree in the listed English-speaking country, are exempt from submitting English proficiency test results. - TOEFL (iBT or ITP),
- TOEIC,
- IELTS,
- Cambridge English Scale,
- Aptis General,
- GEPT (General English Proficiency Test), or
- BEST Test of English Proficiency
International Transfer Students Application:
- Admitted international transfer students shall transfer to NTNU as sophomore students.
- Applicant Eligibility: Applicants must meet the MOE's Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan, finishing studied at any university/college in Taiwan for a full academic year without being dismissed due to the reasons stipulated in Article 12 of the aforementioned Regulations.
