Eligibility Check
Eligible applicants must meet MOE’s Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan. Applicants may use the “Eligibility Check” on the right-hand side to determine their eligibility to apply.
- For admission to Bachelor Programs: At least a high school diploma or equivalent
- For admission to Master’s Programs: At least a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- For admission to Doctoral Programs: At least a Master’s degree or equivalent
Note 1:
International students (who are currently studying at or have previously studied at) senior high schools in Taiwan and meet the requirements set forth in Article 8, Paragraph 2 of the MOE’s Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan are required to obtain official documentation from their previous school certifying their status as “international students.” Applicants must submit this documentation along with the relevant academic qualification documents and apply for admission through this application channel.
Note 2:
Applicants with a previous degree from Mainland China are subjected to the following regulations:
- The university where the previous degree was obtained must be listed under MOE’s “List of Recognized Higher Education Institutions in Mainland China” (Chinese version only).
- The period of study must fulfill the minimum requirements of Article 7 of MOE’s Regulations Regarding the Assessment and Recognition of Academic Credentials for Mainland Area (Chinese version only).
- One must not meet any circumstances listed under Article 9 of MOE’s Regulations Regarding the Assessment and Recognition of Academic Credentials for Mainland Area. (Chinese version only)
- Diplomas, degree certificates, and academic transcripts from Mainland China are required to be verified by the relevant authorities in accordance with the provisions of the MOE's Regulations Regarding the Assessment and Recognition of Academic Credentials for Mainland Area.

Note 1: First day of the semester of admissions: Fall semester: August 1; Spring semester: February 1
Note 2: The only exception to this rule applies to those who fulfill one of the following requirements in Taiwan and can provide documented proof:
- Overseas youth training courses organized by the Overseas Compatriot Affairs Council or technique training classes accredited by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan.
- A Mandarin Chinese language center at a university/college in Taiwan of which foreign student recruitment is approved by the Ministry of Education, and to which the total length of stay is less than 2 years.
- Exchange students in Taiwan, whose length of total exchange is less than 2 years.
- An internship in Taiwan that has been approved by an authorized central government agency and is less than 2 years.
Note 3: The stay in Hong Kong/Macao will not be calculated for those who hold a permanent residence status in Hong Kong or Macao.
The results of this qualification check are for reference only. The applicant's actual qualifications need to be confirmed in accordance with the Nationality Act of the Republic of China and MOE's Regulations Regarding International Student Undertaking Studies in Taiwan.
