INALCO President Visits NTNU to Strengthen Language Education and Taiwan Studies
On February 2, 2026, Jean‑François Huchet, President of Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales (INALCO) and Vice President of France Universités, visited National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) to promote collaboration in language education, cross-cultural research, and Taiwan Studies.
President Huchet delivered the opening remarks at the Taiwan–France–Canada Trilateral Winter School, jointly organized by NTNU’s International Taiwan Studies Center, INALCO, and Canada’s L’École nationale d’administration publique (ENAP). He then participated in a university-level meeting to discuss future cooperation and exchange programs.
The meeting was hosted by Yao-Ting Sung, Executive Vice President (Incoming President) of NTNU. Other attendees included Chih-Chien Steven Lai, Dean, and Jia-Fei Hong, Associate Dean, College of International Studies and Social Sciences; Nikky Lin, Director of the International Taiwan Studies Center; and Hsiu-Mei Hsieh, Associate Vice President for International Affairs. Chan-Yueh Liu, Director of INALCO’s Taiwan Studies Program, also joined the discussion.
The discussions focused on sharing language teaching resources, designing transnational courses, and promoting Taiwan Studies internationally. President Huchet also delivered a keynote lecture at the Winter School, engaging with students and faculty from Taiwan, France, and Canada.
NTNU highlighted that the visit strengthens ongoing partnerships and lays a foundation for future joint courses, student exchanges, and international academic events, further enhancing NTNU’s visibility in the global academic community.
