City University of Macau Delegation Visits NTNU to Explore Collaboration Opportunities
On December 12, 2025, a delegation from the City University of Macau, led by Vice President Professor Wanlei Zhou and accompanied by Pro-Rector Mr. Vince Te Lin Chu, visited National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) to discuss potential avenues for future collaboration between the two institutions.
The delegation was warmly received by NTNU Executive Vice President Yao-Ting Sung, Vice President for NTNU Extension and the School of Continuing Education Professor Yan-Nan Hu, and Associate Vice President for International Affairs Professor Cindy Yunhsin Chou.
During the meeting, Professor Zhou shared that despite being one of the largest universities in Macau, the City University of Macau faces challenges in student recruitment. These challenges stem from a declining birth rate and the growing trend of local students pursuing higher education overseas.
Mr. Chu expressed strong confidence in the quality of Taiwanese higher education and its students, noting that this was a key reason the university sought to explore exchange opportunities for faculty and students between the two institutions. In response, Professor Chou explained that NTNU’s Office of International Affairs oversees faculty and student exchanges, which require a signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) between partner universities.
Professor Hu further suggested the possibility of developing customized exchange programs through the NTNU Extension and School of Continuing Education. While these programs are self-funded by participants, they can be tailored to meet the specific objectives and needs of the City University of Macau.
In closing, Executive Vice President Sung expressed NTNU’s openness and enthusiasm toward strengthening future cooperation with the City University of Macau.
