President of Nagasaki University Visits MTC

President Shigeru KOHNO and Prof. Wang Wei visited NTNU on November 13th with the staff from the Office in Japan of the Ministry of Education. President Wu Cheng Chih, Vice President for International Affairs Liu Hsiang Lin and Executive Director Chen Jenn Yeu greeted them and they went to Mandarin Training Center to observe classes.

Nagasaki University was established in 1949 by incorporating several national institutions, namely, Nagasaki Medical College (including College Hospital and College of Pharmaceutical Sciences), Nagasaki College of Economics, Nagasaki Normal School, Nagasaki Youth Normal School and Nagasaki High School. Recently, it started the course of Doctor of Business Administration in Japan. As early as in 2008, Ren Seikichi, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Studies, visited NTNU with team. Various academic and cultural event took place in recent years. In February 2017, the MOU was signed between Nagasaki University and NTNU.

According to President Kohno, Mandarin Training Center is one of the most prestigious institution for Mandarin learning. It's one of the most expected place to visit this time. Both parties have discussed the possibilities of future cooperation. The School of Global Humanities and Social Sciences was established at Nagasaki University, where Prof. Wang teaches. President Wu said that he welcomes more interaction between related academic fields. According to President Wu, several teachers have paid visits to the other university but no exchange student from Nagasaki University come to NTNU. President Kohno said that their students like Taiwan very much and look forward to coming to Taiwan. He has taken some measures to subside the expense of exchange students. and hopes that students can interact more in the future.
