University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna Visits NTNU

On May 31st, Prof. Ulrike Sych, Rector; Mr. Werner Tomasi, Husband of Prof. Ulrike Sych; and Ms. Anita Taschler from the International office of University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna visited NTNU. Prof. Cheng-Chih Wu, President; Prof. Yi-De Liu, Associate Vice President of Office of International Affairs; Prof. Chinn-Horng Chen, Dean, College of Music and Prof. Chia-Hong Liao, Professor, Department of Music welcomed the guests in person.

Founded in 1817, University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna has a long history in music education. As the greatest music and art university in Austria, it enjoys rather high prestige in the world. Courses include composition, voice, instruments, conductor, music theory, art education, sound effects, performing arts, theater, film and television attracts 3000 students from 70 different countries to study there. University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna has become partner school with NTNU since 2006, this time, the purpose of their visit is to know more about NTNU and explore possibilities of substantive cooperation in the future. Therefore, during the courtesy call, by understanding better both universities’ curriculum, the two sides proposed various aspects of future cooperation, and exchanged their experiences in Austria.

Before their visit ended, the student ambassador showed the guests around the campus, everyone engaged in profound discussion, they had a great time in NTNU.
