Penn State University Representative Visits NTNU to Strengthen Longstanding Partnership

Dr. Anna Marshall, Director for Asia Partnerships at Penn State Global, Penn State University (PSU), visited National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) on June 10, 2026. She was welcomed by Prof. Stephen J.H. Yang, Executive Vice President, and Prof. Yi-De Liu, Vice President for International Affairs. During her visit, Dr. Marshall met with NTNU representatives, visited the Mandarin Training Center (MTC), and met with PSU students studying Mandarin at NTNU.

NTNU and PSU have enjoyed a longstanding partnership for more than four decades. What began with collaboration in industrial and vocational education has since expanded to student exchange, academic research, institutional collaboration, and Mandarin education. In recent years, the two universities have further strengthened their partnership through the Taiwan Huayu BEST Program. Since 2022, PSU has regularly sent students to study Mandarin at NTNU's Mandarin Training Center, creating new opportunities for academic and cultural exchange.

During the meeting, both universities reviewed their long history of collaboration and discussed future cooperation in student mobility, Mandarin education, and international engagement. Having previously participated in NTNU's International Forum in 2023, Dr. Anna Marshall expressed her appreciation for NTNU's continued efforts in international education and looked forward to expanding collaboration between the two institutions.

At the Mandarin Training Center, Dr. Anna Marshall met with three PSU students, who shared their experiences of learning Mandarin and living in Taiwan. They noted that studying at NTNU had enhanced not only their language proficiency but also their understanding of Taiwanese culture.

The visit reaffirmed the strong partnership between NTNU and PSU and underscored both universities' commitment to advancing academic collaboration, student exchange, and Mandarin education in the years ahead.
