Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta Visits NTNU
On June 18, 2026, a delegation from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) led by Prof. Soni Nopembri, Ph.D., Vice Rector for Cooperation and Information Systems, visited National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU). The UNY delegation was received by representatives from the NTNU Office of International Affairs (OIA), led by Prof. Yi-De Liu, Vice President for International Affairs.
Similar to the history of NTNU, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta is also a university with roots in the field of Education, that has branched out into a more extensive range of educational fields and services throughout the years. As such, UNY has expressed interest in initiating discussions of possible partnership and collaboration with NTNU, to provide students more options and opportunities to pursue further studies in Taiwan.
Prof. Liu welcomed the discussion by proposing to start with UNY identifying the field or the NTNU department that they wish to work with, and NTNU OIA will act as the link to bridge the conversation forward. Through this method, the potential partnership between both universities can have a concrete direction to follow, in pursuit of a university-wide partnership in the future.
This preliminary meeting marks an optimistic start to a fruitful relationship between National Taiwan Normal University and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta.
