★【Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship】Nanshan Life Outstanding Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship (Deadline: March 31, 2025)

1. Introduction

Nanshan Life Insurance Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") has established the "Nanshan Life Outstanding Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship" to support overseas Chinese students in Taiwan, encouraging academic excellence and nurturing future talents.

2. Application Period

  • First Semester: From the start of registration until November 22, 2024.
  • Second Semester: From the start of registration until March 31, 2025.

3. Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Overseas Chinese students or students from Hong Kong and Macau studying in Taiwan under the Regulations for Overseas Chinese Students Returning to Study in Taiwan or the Regulations for Hong Kong and Macau Residents Studying in Taiwan.
  2. Undergraduate students in their third year or above, or master’s students, with a conduct grade of at least 80 points (Grade A) and no disciplinary records.
  3. A minimum GPA of 3.5 or an equivalent academic performance in the previous semester.

4. Award Quota and Benefits

  1. Scholarship Quota: A total of 10 recipients per semester. Each awardee will receive a NT$10,000 scholarship, limited to a one-time receipt per person.
  2. Internship Opportunity: Scholarship recipients interested in interning at the Company will be given priority consideration in the selection process upon submitting a separate application (selection is not guaranteed).

5. Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  1. Application Form (including a copy of the student ID and a copy of a permanent or long-term residence permit from the applicant’s home country). See Attachment 1.
  2. Personal Data Consent Form. See Attachment 2.
  3. Personal Statement (including self-analysis, academic journey, career development plan, and future aspirations). The format is flexible but should not exceed two A4 pages (single-sided).
  4. Original transcript and conduct grade certificate (or proof of rewards and punishments) for the previous semester. Photocopies must be certified with the university’s academic affairs office seal.

6. Application Guidelines

  1. Documents must be arranged in the specified order and compiled into a single electronic file not exceeding 9MB.
  2. Email Subject and File Name Format: "Nanshan Life Outstanding Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship +NTNU+ your Name."
  3. Submit applications via email to NS-Resume@nanshan.com.tw. Late or incorrectly formatted submissions will not be accepted.
  4. If any falsified or inaccurate information is found in the submitted documents, the Company reserves the right to revoke the scholarship and request the return of awarded funds. Legal action may be taken depending on the severity of the violation.

7. Selection and Notification

  1. Applicants with prior internship or work experience at the Company should provide supporting documents, which may be considered for additional evaluation points.
  2. A panel of judges invited by the Company will conduct the selection process. The Company reserves final decision-making authority.
  3. Award Ceremony:
    • Recipients must attend the award ceremony in person.
    • If unable to attend, recipients must inform the organizer in advance and comply with alternative arrangements set by the Company.
    • In case of cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, further notifications will be provided by the organizer.
    • The Company reserves the right to use any related text, photographs, and videos taken during the event for print, online, or digital media purposes.

8. Final Provisions

The Company reserves the final interpretation rights of these regulations and may amend them as necessary.
