President of Kyushu University Visits NTNU
President Chiharu Kubo from Kyushu University, Presidentess Fumiko Kubo, Executive Director of the General Affairs Department Katsuji Niitsu, Executive Director of the International Affairs Department Goro Watanabe, Head of the Alumni and Endowment Division Keiko Aihara, Deputy Head of the International Affairs Division Haruaki Yoshimaru, Head of the Secretarial Section, General Affairs Division Kenji Kajiwara, and Head of the Alumni Liaison Section, Alumni and Endowment Division Yukihiro Kawakami visited NTNU on January 7th. President Kuo-En Chang from NTNU, Executive Vice President Cheng-Chih Wu, Vice President for International Affairs, Office of International Affairs Kuang-Chao Yu, Executive Director of RCCCR Yuan-Feng Chang, University Librarian of the Library Hao-Ren Ke; Dean of College of Science Kwun-Min Chen, and Professor of the Department of Chemistry Cheng-Huang Lin welcomed them in person.
NTNU’s College of Science have just signed MOU with Kyushu University’s Faculty of Engineering; Graduate School of Engineering; School of Engineering; Faculty of Science; Graduate School of Science; School of Science; Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences; Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences; School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Institute for Materials Chemistry and Engineering on December, 2017. President Kuo-En Chang states that NTNU is excited to embark on a new partnership with Kyushu University and look forward to substantiating this partnership with lively activities in the days ahead.
In addition to the courtesy call, President Kubo and other fellows also visited some noted places on campus, including the Research Center for Conservation of Cultural Relics, auditorium, and the school history section of the library. As the only high school that could enter National Taiwan University without taking any exams during the Japanese-ruled period, Taihoku High School (the forerunner of NTNU) becomes a place that cultivates top leaders in Taiwan, and has accumulated over 200 students who chose to study in Kyushu University after graduation. Currently, there are four professors in NTNU graduated from Kyushu University. Through visiting these places, the President Kubo and other fellows have a further understanding about the NTNU'S history and long partnership between Kyushu University and NTNU.
