ENS Paris Director of International Affairs Visits NTNU to Explore Academic Collaboration
On October 20, 2025, Mr. Cédric Guillerme, Director of International Affairs at École normale supérieure (ENS), Paris, visited National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) to explore potential avenues for academic collaboration.
Mr. Guillerme was accompanied and welcomed by Professor Nikki Lin, Director of the International Taiwan Studies Center, who served as the main NTNU liaison for the visit. As part of his program, he visited the Office of International Affairs (OIA), where he met with Professor Hsiu-Mei Hsieh, Associate Vice President for International Affairs, and Ms. Kao-Ming Lin, Head of the OIA Global Academic Collaborations Division. Professor Lin also invited Professor Hsueh-I Chen, Director of the Graduate Institute of European Cultures and Tourism, to join the meeting.
The conversation was dynamic and forward-looking, centering on possibilities for student exchange and internships. Mr. Guillerme introduced ENS’s unique approach to international engagement—highlighting how their students are trained to teach French language, culture, and literature abroad, and often complete internships at ENS partner institutions in the U.S., U.K., Germany, and China.
In turn, Professor Chen outlined opportunities available at NTNU for exchange students, including the opportunity to work as teaching assistants at the Graduate Institute of European Cultures and Tourism, provided that they are already enrolled as exchange students. Additionally, exchange students may offer French language classes at the NTNU French Center, as long as minimum enrollment requirements for the language course are met.
The visit concluded on a positive and enthusiastic note, marking a promising beginning for potential future collaboration between NTNU and ENS.
