University of St. Thomas - Houston Visits NTNU
On March 6, 2025, University of St. Thomas-Houston's Associate Vice President for International Relations and Engagement, Prof. Hans Stockton visited NTNU to discuss about the challenges facing Taiwan-USA higher education collaboration under a new presidency, as well as about the prospect of academic exchange and mobility. He was welcomed by NTNU President Wu, Executive Vice President Prof. Kwun-Min Chen, and Associate Vice President for International Affairs Prof. Hsiu-Mei Hsieh.
This visit came after the "Taiwan Night" dinner on March 3, 2025, which was attended by the NTNU delegation including President Cheng-Chih Wu and Vice President for International Affairs Prof. Yi-De Liu. The "Taiwan Night" dinner, co-hosted by FICHET (Foundation for International Collaboration in Higher Education of Taiwan), the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston (TECO) and the University of St. Thomas-Houston, welcomed participants from 30 universities of different continents.
The University of St. Thomas-Houston and Prof. Stockton has been working with the Ministry of Education in Taiwan through TECO Houston, on advancing UST-Houston's Taiwan and East Asia study program. They are also working with Wenzao Ursuline University, TECO Houston and its Division of Education, for the Huayu BEST Program. UST-Houston's first Huayu BEST Program Workshop was held on May 4, 2024.
