Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada Visits NTNU

On April 25th, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, the Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, and other 19 guests (including Deans, Chairs, etc.) visited NTNU. President Cheng-Chih Wu; Executive Vice President Frank Ying; Prof. Kuang-Chao YU, Vice President for International Affairs, Office of International Affairs; Prof. Chin-Pao Cheng, Dean of College of Technology & Engineering; Prof. Chiou-Lan CHERN, Dean of College of Liberal Arts; Prof. Kwun-Min Chen, Dean of College of Science; Prof. Hsiu-Mei Hsieh, Associate Dean of College of Science; Prof. Shyue-Cherng Liaw, the Associate Dean of College of Liberal Arts; Prof. Chen-Chien Hsu, Chair of Department of Electrical Engineering; Prof. Hsiu-Te Sung, Chair of Department of Industrial Education; Prof. Li-Hsing Liu, Chair of Department of Graphic Arts & Communications; Prof. Chii-Rong Yang, Chair of Department of Mechatronic Engineering; Prof. Shew-Jiuan Su, Chair of Department of Geography; Prof. Kuen-Yi Lin, Department of Technology Application & Human Resource Development; Prof. Wei-Yen Wang and Prof. Jacky Baltes, Department of Electrical Engineering, ​welcomed them in person.

It was the very first time that the Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada visited NTNU since their College of Geography and our College of Liberal Arts signed the MOU and student exchange agreement on January, 2018. The main purpose of their visit is to not only exchange different ideas in different fields such as Science, Engineering, Liberal Arts, but also take this opportunity to hold the signing ceremony of the faculty exchange agreement between their College of Geography and our College of Liberal Arts. Before the ceremony, the guests had a campus tour led by our student ambassdor, also visited our College of Technology & Engineering. Several professors and graduate students introduced their innovative inventions (such as umbrella stand and robot) with lively demonstration and short clips, which highly impressed the guests. After the ceremony, a forum is held and hosted by President Wu. Some deans from Universitas Gadjah Mada proposed possible academic exchange ideas, while numerous Deans from both universities introduced the features and strengths of their own faculties. Every participants had a wonderful conversation and obtained more knowledge during the discussion.
